Bring the whole family to the MSU Broad Art Museum for a fun exploration of darkness and light! Discover how night and day shape the world around us through hands-on art activitiesLearn how our eyes, bodies, and environments change after the sun goes downAnd explore how bugs, plants, and animals use darkness (and lightto rest, adapt, and grow! 

This event is part of the MSU Science Festival and takes place during International Dark Sky Week, a global celebration that encourages us to notice the night sky and reflect on the importance of darkness in our natural world. Activities are inspired by the exhibition Jan Tichy: Darkness, which invites visitors to think differently about night, natural cycles, and our connection to the world after dark. Darkness is on view Jan. 31–Jul. 26, 2026.
